We aimed to explore how flavonolignans from silybum marianum, specifically silybin, silychristin, and silydianin, affect blood clotting through the COX pathway in platelets. Our methods involved analyzing platelet aggregation and the formation of COX pathway metabolites.

Silibinin shows promise for COVID-19
We explored silibinin from Silybum marianum as a potential treatment against SARS-CoV-2, focusing on its anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant effects. Through in silico analysis, we found that silibinin effectively binds to key viral proteins, suggesting it could inhibit the virus's entry and replication.
Our in vitro studies showed that silibinin also reduces expressions of proinflammatory genes linked to blood clotting. Overall, while silibinin shows promise, the need for more comprehensive clinical trials is crucial to fully understand its therapeutic potential against COVID-19.

Fatty liver treatment

My liver was in a poor state due to fatty liver. After taking this, my blood test results returned to normal values. I don't feel the effects, but the data shows improvement. I took one after breakfast and dinner.

The doctor prescribed the same treatment for my sister, who is undergoing chemotherapy for lung cancer. After starting the chemotherapy, her liver enzyme levels increased, but I assured her this would help protect her liver. Eventually, her oncology doctor also prescribed it. Following several blood tests, her liver function normalised, and the chemotherapy effectively targeted her lung cancer.

No significant effect
I didn't notice much effect. I was taking 750 to 1500 mg of niacin daily, which raised my liver values in blood tests. I began taking silymarin for liver care, but after two months, my liver values rose again, and I experienced bile reflux. I finished the silymarin but didn't see the desired effect on my elevated liver values, which returned to normal once I stopped the niacin.
